Welcome

Niskayuna Neighbors Network, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt organization based on the concept of neighbors helping neighbors.  We are a member driven, all volunteer organization that coordinates services and activities for older adults wanting to remain independent, socially active and residing in their own homes for as long as possible.   Membership benefits include various social, educational and cultural activities as well as assistance with minor household chores.  Transportation, running of errands, accompaniment to appointments and medical note taking are added benefits.

The Village concept is built on the idea that individually and as a community we are stronger when there is a neighbor-to-neighbor network to promote social connections and help our older adults to remain in their community. What started in 1999 as an idea in the Beacon Hill area in Boston has grown into an international movement.  Niskayuna Neighbors Network (NNN) is part of that movement.  We are a member of the national Village to Village Network (www.vtvnetwork.org)  as well as the Capital Region Village Collaborative of the Albany Guardian Society  (www.albanyguardiansociety.org).

Our Mission

Our mission is to help our neighbors, age 60 and older, remain independent and to encourage their active involvement within our community.
