Niskayuna Neighbors Network will be participating in Niska-Day this year and will have a table under the community tent from 11 AM until 4 PM. The organization will be promoting the advantages of membership and the opportunities for volunteerism in the Niskayuna community. If you have attended one of our events as a guest in the past, and want to learn more about the organization, stop by to see us. Attorneys Lauren Sharkey and Laurie Keniry from the law firm of Cioffi, Slezak, Wildgrube P.C. will be presenting on the basics of estate planning. They will cover the importance of having an asset list, understanding how assets are transferred at death, and updating the asset list on a regular basis. Part of the discussion will touch on the current estate tax laws and what changes can be expected in the next few years. Health care proxies/living wills, powers of attorney, will and trusts will also be reviewed.
